Autumn knitting

Just a sneak peek at something I'm working on. Pretty fall colors. :)

I'm also taking my first knitting class tonight. I've been knitting for several years now, but have never formally taken a class. We will be making Knucks fingerless gloves from knitty. I've made fingerless gloves before, but these actually have partial fingers in them. I was worried that if I tried to make them on my own, I would stop after one glove and never do the second. Taking this class will force me to make the second one. Sometimes we need an extra push...

More Birthday happiness

I just LOVE these shoes. My dear hubby got them for me for my birthday. They are so comfortable and cute. They are by Alegria. They come in all differents styles, colors and patterns. You can find them at http://happylookslike.com/.

You can see that the leaves are beginning to turn colors and fall to the ground. I just love fall. It is definitely my favorite time of year.

I also received this pretty candle from my children. My oldest, Emma, is now working at a local drug store and spent her own money on this gift for me. She was worried that I wouldn't have anything to open on my birthday. She is so precious!

This milk glass vase was from my sister-in-law and brother. It is absolutely gorgeous! I collect milk glass, but have very few pieces. The ones I have came from my grandmother and an aunt. Just had to put some grocery store flowers in it.

I also received money for YARN. My family knows me well. :) I'll give you a sneak peek of what I'm working on tomorrow.
Have a happy day!

Owls

For some reason, Owls have become popular once again. I look for them in Target. I search for them in craft magazines. I point them out to my children when we are in antique stores.

I make them when I knit.

My BFF gave me this one for my birthday last week. A beautiful black cast iron trivet. Too cute to use, so it is hanging beside my kitchen sink. It makes me so happy everytime I see it.

Something new

Well, this is definitely something new for me. I've never been much of a writer/journaler, but I've always wanted to be. I want to be able to share what I'm doing, knitting, seeing, reading, with my family, friends, myself.

Silly, isn't it? At least, that's how I feel.

But, nevertheless, here I am...
